Another fab end to a busy week , Oxford Groves yr6s visited us for a day of using Lego Mindstorm we worked in groups to build our robot, building the robot took most of the morning as it was rather tricky!
Once it was built we discussed how detailed programming needs to be because if steps are missed out, it just won’t work! We looked at when programming the motors in at different speeds will effect how the robot moves.
The Table Challenge:
- Using the colour sensor to sense a black line, reserve slight and change direction.
In our photos you can see us through the building process and then at the challenge table.
What a fab day with @StPetersSD conquering lots of our programming challenges set in the afternoon.
Well done year6s and we wish you all the very best in your new school.
If you attended this trip, it would be lovely to hear about your highlights and why
We have seen lots of classes from The Valley Primary School, visiting our training centre to take part in our education days. Today was year5s turn, they said they seemed to have been waiting for ages!
Below are highlights from the trip, an excellent day all round 🙂
Today we welcomed Year6s from The Valley.
Their challenge was to build a robot add colour sensor and ultra sonic sensor.
Challenge one – to program the robot using the line sensor to sense the black line, once that works to then pause , reverse and change directions … oh did we mention we want it to move continuously !
Challenge two – to make a new line of code using ultrasonic sensor, when it senses an object in front of it, to pause, reverse and change directions don’t forget we want it to move continuously !
